Let's Play Mega Man 4 - Part 8: Put a Ring On It
In this episode, we deal with Ring Man and his crazy flashy gauntlet of a stage. This one isn't exactly *horrible* if you're just playing through normally, but if you're going for no damage not familiar enough with the various hazards of the stage and how to deal with them, it can be rather nasty. What exactly Ring Man's stage is supposed to be, I'm not sure...some sort of astronomy tower or something? I have no idea. It doesn't have all that much to do with rings, either. What it does have are wall-mounted turrets, platforms that vanish underneath you, homing flying enemies, bottomless pits and spikes, and a whopping FOUR sub-bosses. After that, though, Ring Man himself isn't all that bad. He's one of those pattern-based bosses that's hard at the beginning but easy once you get the hang of his pattern. I'm actually surprised I pulled it off (and with only 2 units of health left, no less), considering I've been known to completely screw up this boss fight before. His weapon, the Ring Boomerang, is pretty mid-tier in usefulness. It's a basic straight-shooting weapon that returns to you when thrown.
And with that, we've defeated all 8 Robot Masters, so in the next episode, we shall enter the fortress!
