Let's Play Mega Man 4 - Part 16: The Wily Capsule Appears (and Disappears)
On this final day of the year of our lord 2013, we conquer the final stage of Mega Man 4! Wily Stage 4 has even less to it than Wily Stage 3, just a drop into a cave with a few of those caterpillar robots. Wily awaits behind the boss doors, in the first instance of the Wily Capsule. It appears, it disappears, it randomly teleports all over the place, it shoots homing energy shots at you, it has a pretty cool battle theme, and it's weak to the Pharaoh Shot. You're not limited to shooting it forward either; you can ram him from below with it or shoot it diagonally. After defeat, unfortunately, Dr. Wily escapes in his flying saucer...but hey, that means we get to play more Mega Man games. His fortress blows up, and Mega Man rides home on a train.
And with that, we've finished another LP. (Wow, has it really been over 5 months since I started this?!) Mega Man 4 is actually my favorite of the NES Mega Man games. I'd still place it below the ones made after the NES (except Mega Man & Bass), but it's still a very good game. It has a good selection of stages, music, and weapons. My biggest complaint with it is that you have to go through 8 stages in a row without turning the console off once you reach the fortresses (seriously, they couldn't have at *least* provided a password for the second one?!), but it's still doable, and that doesn't come into play at all when emulating the game.
Thanks for watching, and I will see you in the next project...next year!
