Once again, I have decided to do 2 games alongside one another, so besides Super Mario Bros. 3, I'll also be playing through Mega Man 5. In Mega Man 5, we find that, apparently, Proto Man has turned evil and started blowing stuff up, so we must find out what is going on here and save the world again. This is one of those games where I don't have a set order for doing the bosses, so I kind of just go by whimsy. I decided to start off with Charge Man, who is based on a train. He even shoots hot coal at you. He also has a large hitbox, which combined with his tendencies to turn around abruptly and charge at you without warning make it rather easy to take contact damage from him. Still, though, he's not _too_ difficult a boss by Mega Man standards, and in any case, the Mega Buster in this game (as well as Mega Man 6) pretty much breaks any difficulty most of the bosses did have. In any case, we have beaten Charge Man, we are now in the possession of a special weapon that I will probably never use, and we've made some progress on the game. This should be fun; Mega Man 5 isn't my favorite game in the series, but it's pretty decent. (And man, playing this again really makes me wish my NES hadn't stopped reading cartridges properly...I really should do something about that, if I could figure out how to fix it...)
