Let's Play Super Mario Bros. 3 - Part 4: Pyramid Scheme
We take care of the second half of World 2, which consists of two numbered stages, another unnumbered one, and the airship. 2-4 actually has two different paths through it, one of which has a lot more coins and fewer enemies but requires a suit. I showed off both routes through the stage, though. 2-5 marks the first appearances of Chain Chomps in the Mario series. Then there is the pyramid level, which is basically just an underground level with a lot of dead-end paths. (And I still think it should have been 2-7, while 2-5 should have been 2-6, 2-4 should have been 2-5, and the quicksand level from the previous episode should have been 2-4.) The World 2 airship, on the other hand, is MUCH longer and harder than the first one was, comparatively speaking. Not that its boss is any tougher...has Morton Koopa Jr. ever not been a joke in a game he's showed up in? At least he puts up more of a fight than his Super Mario World incarnation...and I guess he was named after Morton Downey Jr. Oh, and we spend a bit of time in World 3 discussing text/translation oddities and an interesting quirk of the warp pipes.
