Let's Play Mega Man 7 - Part 10: Slash Damage
We've now reached the final Robot Master, and as luck would have it, he's the most difficult to defeat. I actually had to break my rule about not using weakness weapons here. (In retrospect, maybe I should have done this guy directly after Turbo Man to get him over with early, too....) Slash Man's *stage* is simple enough, just a trek through a prehistoric jungle with robotic dinosaurs and other animal enemies, and it isn't even that long (although it does have a mid-boss). Slash Man himself, on the other hand, is infamous for his status as the "nightmare boss" in Mega Man 7. He only really has two attacks, but he doesn't need any more. He jumps around, usually toward Mega Man, and tries to slash him when he gets close. But once a certain amount of time passes or you hit him twice (or just once with his weakness), he jumps up and drops capsules of some kind of weird red goop on you, and if they land on Mega Man or he steps in the goop after it lands on the floor, he will be immobilized or prevented from jumping and shooting, which allows Slash Man to get an easy hit in on you. (After dropping the stuff, he either drops straight down or dive-bombs Mega Man, and there's no way to tell which he'll do ahead of time.) If you actually do manage to beat this annoying boss, you get the Slash Claw, a basic short-ranged weapon. There is one item in Slash Man's stage: Beat, whom you can rescue by burning one of the trees in a later section of the stage. After the last Robot Master is defeated, we get a cutscene where we find out that, sure enough, Bass was one of the bad guys, and he destroyed Dr. Light's laboratory and stole some enhancements intended for Mega Man and Rush. We can't let him get away with that, now, can we? So next time, we will start the conquering of Dr. Wily's fortress!
Oh, yeah, on an unrelated note...I finally put my videos into playlists last night. YouTube decided to be a troll and, for who knows what reason, splice the videos from some of my playlists into others while I was making them. But that's all fixed, so they should be all ready to go.
