Let’s Play Rock of Ages 2 #09: Surrealism? In MY sentient boulder rolling game?
This is a blind playthrough. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.
When it comes to realism and historical accuracy, this game is a far cry from either of them and it revels in the fact. Contrary to the teacher’s words in the tutorial, most battles in human history were not fought by rolling giant boulders down hills. I say most because there’s surely been a couple of instances where it has former a minor part of somebody’s strategy, though I doubt the boulder had a smiley face and possessed a mind of its own.
With all that said, there’s plenty of ways that even this game can veer into the truly surreal and abstract and folks, this video is that point. Of all the opponents I thought we’d be facing, I didn’t anticipate this one despite the loading screen giving a not-so-subtle hint as to who they are. I’m going to say nothing else on the matter and let you discover the identity of this adversary just like I did, via the most silly of silly cutscenes.
Also, don’t worry: I did notice the comments informing me that I’ve forgotten to race Don Quixote. I will ensure that I complete that race before completing the game.
