Let's Play Shining Force (#21) - The Lost Civilization
5In this episode the Shining Force arrives at the town of Prompt, where everyone seems a little...stupid. Nevertheless, we speak with the townspeople, who tell us the king of Prompt may be able to answer our questions about Dark Dragon and the Ancients. We find some formidable upgrades at the weapon shop, and our good friend Jorgurt provides some much-needed comic relief. We make our way to the castle, which, despite seeming somewhat ruined, contains some advanced technology, not the least of which is the second Shining Path. Unfortunately for us, it is currently under repairs and cannot be used. We speaking with the king, whose advisor warned us to be polite to him or else risk being thrown in jail. We tell him our tale, but he takes it as nonsense, and accuses us of being spies and promptly (sorry, I had to) throws us in jail. Fortunately, our good friend and fellow adventurer Boken releases us, just in time to hear the news that the forces the king has sent to confront Darksol have failed. The king then charges us with rescuing Alef and Torasu, the mage and healer he has sent to deal with the threat. After this distressing news, we visit the castle's infirmary, where we find none other than Kane, who is resting from his injuries from his confrontation with Darksol. The king rushes to his bedside, and Kane pleads with the king to allow us entry to the Tower of Ancients. The king obliges his request, and we make our preparations to leave town. It is then that we discover a hidden message on a wall in town, the samurai Musashi wishes to join the Force. With our new party member in tow, we head out of town, only to be confronted by a force of powerful enemies that stand between us and the Tower.
