In this episode we finally aquire a ship that will allow us to give chase to Kane of Runefaust across the sea. However, on our voyage, the ship suddenly becomes surrounded by monsters, and the Shining Force heads topside to deal with this unexpected threat. The sea monsters fall one by one, but in the course of the battle, the ship is damaged. A mermaid named Shell approaches, telling us that we can repair our ship her home, the island town of Waral. Glad for the help, we follow her to Waral, a paradisical place with few worries, save for a huge whirlpool that has opened nearby, swallowing the sea and one of the town's friar's along with it. The king of Waral agrees to repair our ship in exchange for some favorable word-of-mouth advertising on our part, but we cannot resist the mystery of the whirlpool. Determined to investigate, we prepare to board the town's guest boat.
