Let's Play Shining Force (#6) - The Circus
6In this episode, having defeated the Cavern of Darkness and retrieved the Orb of Light, we travel back to Rindo to attempt to convince the mayor of the town to give us his ship so that we can continue our pursuit of Kane of Runefaust. Once we arrive back in Rindo, we speak with the Mayor, who tells us his son is missing, and that he will give us his ship in exchange for finding him. We quickly realize that the Circus is in town, and the boy had mentioned being very excited to attend. Putting two and two together, we head straight for the Circus tent, and the man outside mentions he saw the boy go in, but that he hasn't come out. Before venturing inside, the man warns us that the people inside look dangerous. Undaunted, we go in, only to be confronted by the witch, Mishaela, who previously foretold our death. Saying she has more important things to do, she leaves her puppet minions to attack us, with the fearsome Marionette serving as our first real boss battle. Slashing through the puppets, we surround the Marionette, dealing blow after blow until it finally falls, but not before felling a number of our allies with its devastating Freeze spell. The Shining Force stands victorious, and the mayor's son appears from his hiding place, telling us Mishaela promised to feed him to a dragon, and that he'll return home and never leave. We stop by the priest to raise our fallen allies, then head to the mayor's house, where he makes good on his promise to gift us his ship, the last one in town. Before disembarking, we stop by the theatre once more, where the play on offer has changed for the better.
