Let's Play Super Mario RPG - Part 35: Greatest Common Factory
It's finally time...we're finally here...it's time to take on the last stage, the final dungeon, of Super Mario RPG. It's not Bowser's castle, either, oh, no...this is the Weapons Factory, a place with the dark, ominous atmosphere that would be expected of the final stage in an RPG. This is actually another of my most-liked stages in the game, with music to match. The music here is in 13/8 time, with reverberating clanks in the background and low instruments - in short, awesome. None of the minor enemies here are terribly threatening, surprisngly; there are a few upgraded vesions of previous enemies and a few new ones, but they're all, for the most part, easy to take out. The nuts from the airships in SMB3 also show up here. This stage really likes its sub-bosses, though; the outside area of the factory alone has two of them. The first one is Count Down, a clock with bells on top (that count as separate enemies). Each turn, its hands move around the clock; they will stop at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 12:00, if I remember correctly, and they perform a different magic spell for each time. The bells have various magic attacks as well as a physical one.
