Switching to Max, we're sent to investigate a brutal murder at a laboratory, seemingly committed by our partner. There's ample motive and opportunity - the victim being Adam Baxter, a former colleague and the murderer of Regis' wife - but the facts don't add up. Among other things, Regis was following the trail of the Mindjacker, and the victim was found missing a lot of weight above the neck. Theories don't keep a man out of future jail, however, so it's time to start solving puzzles.

Luckily, one was left for us to find. Charlie hid a message in junk data hidden throughout the lab, so Max starts snooping around to piece it together. As you might expect, this involves deep dives into lore, IP theft, a minor ecological disaster, and - worst of all - interacting with the youth of Newton.
