Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Arena Blind - Part 19 - Weirdness Ensues
We start up the playthrough a day after the previous session, though I warn that my headphones will probably die at some point and I will have to cut it short. It seems this was foretelling for the next part.
I decide to stop by the Mages Guild just so I know what the place looks like, plus to have it marked on my map so I can find it after my return from Selene's Web. Not much of significance happens before I decide to explore the aforementioned dungeon.
This video basically showcases my adventure through the first floor of Selene's Web. As suggested, there will be a lot of spiders, which in turns means a lot of being paralyzed and reloading. Luckily this dungeon seems to have quite a few alcoves to rest on, the general style seems to remind me of Stonekeep.
We get to hear some weird noises in this part that drive me crazy, the reason behind these noises is still unknown to me, I am not sure if it was just a bit of ambient noise or if it had some significance. We then see the word "arena" on our screen, though all the letters but A are censored out. None of this stuff makes any sense to me, even on retrospect.
Most areas are pretty pointless here, there is actually very little treasure to find, most rooms are pretty much either empty or have a single monster in them. Needless to say, it leads to some dull exploration, though we do find a completely pointless area known as the "Mating Dens" where the webs seem thicker.
Eventually we make our way around to a central area with some enemies on islands, a lot like the parchment area of Stonekeep, with one of them having a gold key. This key is used to unlock a door leading to the second floor of the dungeon. If you know where you are going, or explore most of the dungeon, you will realize a good chunk of it is pretty useless and isn't even rewarding with loot piles. Well, at least we are seeing blue textures instead of the general brown, plus the map is much easier to explore than something like the Labyrinthian was. As suggested earlier, this video ends at the start of floor 2.
