Let's Play Wolfenstein: The New Order [Part 26] - Nazi Moon Base

Get hype for more Wolfenstein: The New Order Gameplay straight from the goddamn moon. Okay, we don't start this episode on the Moon, but by the end of it we are there.

Currently, we are still navigating this war torn bridge. Well, it's not war-torn so much as secret Da'at Yichud vault Spindle-type super weapon torn, but it's pretty destroyed. That's something I've notices a lot of about Wolfenstein: The New Order. Many of the levels seem to be destroyed place or places that are in the process of being destroyed. Then again, the core gameplay revolves around shooting nazis and giant explosions and robots and stuff (and stealth, but that's not relevant to my point here), so it makes sense for the levels to be to be in a state of disrepair. If they weren't busted up before all-american action hero B.J. Blazkowicz got there, they sure as hell would be after he rampaged through every nazi in the area like a bull elephant in musth.

So where was I? Basically, 90% of this episode is me sucking at platforming. "But FerrousPilot," I hear you say, "There's no platforming in Wolfenstein: The New Order. Wolfenstein is a first person shooter, ergo its core gameplay involves shooting, not platforming. Surely you must be mistaken!" I am not mistaken. It is true that Wolfenstein: The New Order is in fact an FPS, and it is also true that the primary gameplay of games that can accurately be labels FPS is in fact shooting (in fist person). However, MachineGames doesn't care about our petty classifications. They only care about how best to inflict pain on my person. As such, they choose to design this level in Wolfenstein: The New Order in such a fashion as to require the player to perform moderately difficult feats of platforming.

Also there's one place that was just total BS. I swear to god that's not fair. You'll see what I mean if/when you watch the video (actually if you're reading this description at this point, I'm impressed; it's overly long and provides no real value). Anyway, all of that is fine, because we get to go the the god damn moon! It's like Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me all over again.
