Let's Play Wolfenstein: The New Order [Part 29] - Off Base
It's a video recording of gameplay from Wolfenstein: The New Order with commentary. It's the 29th such video posted on this channel in sequence. Well, I don't think I need to explain what a Let's Play is, but why not?
So what exactly happens in the gameplay featured in this video? Well, we shoot Nazis. That's always fun. Seriously, though, the moon base level of Wolfenstein is kind of a change up in the style of gameplay. The gameplay that Wolfenstein The New Order had on Earth was certainly similar, as it revolved around shooting and hiding behind cover (at least the core gameplay), but the difference is in the ammo system. While Moon Base Wolfenstein has ammo packs that enemies drop, it's not a lot. Earth Wolfenstein gave the player enough ammo to pretty much do what they wanted and be fine. On the Moon however, the gameplay shifts to using battery charging devices to charge up weapons instead of looting ammo from enemies or off the ground.
It's pretty cool an all, but it would be nice to get back to the more typical sort of gameplay that we had in Earth Wolfenstein. Luckily, this episode of the LP ends with us going back to Earth! Say what you will about linear games, but the story progresses at a pretty decent clip. We even get some pretty fun and cool cutscenes this time around so check those out. While I say there is progress in the storyline, it's more along the line of story events happening rather than plot twists or information reveals that change everything. Back on Earth, I totally forget how to kill enemies with regular guns and end up sucking at Wolfenstein The New Order, but that's pretty much par for the course in this LP.
