We’ve heard a lot about the alien species that used to live on Mars during our travels and their wonderful achievements. They were clearly a people that were far more advanced than we were and one who may have been the precursors to us and while that revelation would turn our understanding of everything we know of our evolution on its head, it’s a rather humdrum discovery in the world of science fiction. That said aliens sacrificed themselves to seal away a great evil is a trope in and of itself, one that guarantees that someone will undo their hard work.
Nothing remains of the aliens now save the places they left behind, the ruins where the Soul Cube was uncovered. It’s also where this portal the demons are using to continue their invasion is likely located which means we’re off to do a little bit of sightseeing. Now that we’re drawing close to the epicentre of their attack, the difficulty is going to spike up to match, though it’s nothing we can’t handle with our arsenal of weapons and the ability to reload after failing spectacularly.
