PART 8 of our LETS TRY LINUX SERIES sees me finally find the DISTRO I've been looking for. It's slick, looks great and performs amazingly well. It's OpenSUSE 15.1 in the KDE PLASMA DESKTOP ENVIRONMENT.

The layout is familiar, making the transition from WINDOWS super easy and convenient and it's speedy, even on limited hardware. It's worth nothing that OpenSUSE also comes packaged in GNOME. However, I went for KDE PLASMA because it's my favourite DEKSTOP ENVIRONMENT for its levels of customisation and how well you can tailor it to your own style.

I didn't have any issues with OpenSUSE whatsoever. The VIRTUAL MACHINE it was installed on had allocated a modest amount of RAM at 4GB and it still worked like a dream. It was quick and efficient, and customising the theme and layout of the DESKTOP was really easy and convenient.

Overall, I loved my time with OpenSUSE in this LETS TRY and I will continue to use it on my system for the foreseeable for tasks and testing. It looks exactly how I want a DESKTOP to look and it runs exactly how I want my DESKTOP to run. A truly great system.
