Let's Try Linux - Part 7: Debian 10.3.0

In PART 7 of our LETS TRY LINUX SERIES, I mess around with the DEBIAN DISTRO, which comes packaged in the GNOME DESKTOP ENVIRONMENT. I also have an ongoing discussion about the hate that GNOME receives amongst the LINUX community.
Now, I don't know enough about the debate to contribute sincerely, but I take it that the transition from GNOME 2 to GNOME 3 was a case of too much, too soon and the ENVIRONMENT ended up being poorly optimised for a DESKTOP EXPERIENCE.
That said, after turning off the animations, DEBIAN performs perfectly well as a VIRTUAL MACHINE, and I still hold to the argument that I've personally never encountered any major issues with a GNOME DISTRO in this series. In fact, the only DISTRO I've had gripes with would be MANJARO, and I installed that in the KDE PLASMA DESKTOP ENVIRONMENT.
Albeit, I can see why GNOME seems more attuned to being used on a tablet device rather than providing a genuine DESKTOP EXPERIENCE. On the other hand, I haven't seen sluggish performance from any DISTRO in this series that uses GNOME.
On the whole, DEBIAN is extremely similar to FEDORA, which I looked at in PART 5 and I come out thinking that if I were to choose between the two, I would likely choose FEDORA on the basis of it feeling much more customisable and responsive to a DESKTOP than DEBIAN does.
I conclude that I probably won't be choosing DEBIAN for my main build, though I had a okay EXPERIENCE with it. =============================================================
