Let's Try Linux - Part 3: Elementary OS 5.1
#linux #elementary #macos
Providing a platform to come to LINUX from MAC, ELEMENTARY OS is intended to be a fast, stable and clean DISTRO valuing PRIVACY and SECURITY as well as performance. PART 3 of our LETS TRY LINUX series takes a deeper look into ELEMENTARY OS.
From the offset, you can see how much this is based on APPLE's OPERATING SYSTEM, having a centralised task bar at the bottom of the page and a clean DESKTOP space. ELEMENTARY OS boasts a very carefully selected group of apps to begin with, aimed at giving you out-of-the -box use of your system and no BLOATWARE to clean.
It also gives you the option to simply toggle off LOCATION TRACKING SERVICES which automatically blocks apps from tracking your location if you have the option toggled off.
If you're coming from MAC but interested in LINUX, this may very well be the OPERATING SYSTEM for you. However, WINDOWS users may also be interested because whilst there are other DISTROS that are more similar to the WINDOWS experience, ELEMENTARY OS provides enough ease of use to help a WINDOWS user make that transition.
Overall, I have a good time with this DISTRO and I'm sure you will too!
