This is the longplay of the game El Viento, a game released exclusively for Mega Drive/Sega Genesis in 1991 in Japan and the United States, developed by Wolfteam and published by Renovation Products, Inc.
The adventure takes place in 1928, a time when gangsters and mobsters dominated the United States, and when the skies of New York City are dark and scary, announcing the arrival of an overwhelming storm (because of that, it has the name El Viento). However, this storm is not a natural effect, it is only a reflection of the evil forces that manifest in another dimension, where an evil being known as Hastur is imprisoned.
A faithful cult to Hastur plans to sacrifice a girl so that she can resurrect her terrible sovereign in our world. The approaching storm will wipe humanity off the face of the earth so that Hastur can start a new world under his command.
The main character is a peruvian girl, called Annet, who has great faith and hope in humanity. Although in her cursed blood the powers of the terrible Hastur run, she will do anything to defend humanity and has as a main weapon a boomerang, uses magic and has a very strong relationship with Earnest Evans.
Other characters are Restiana (a witch who follows Henri's orders and who is also a descendant of Hastur and she does not know that she is being deceived by Henry, who claims that she will gain Hastur's powers, but that she actually intends to use her as a sacrifice); Henry (leader of a sect of worshipers of Hastur, who plans to build a temple on the site of the Empire State building); Vicent DeMarco (a gangster based on Al Capone, who really existed in the 1930s causing a headache for many people in the USA, and who makes a special appearance in this game as a kind of bodyguard for the evil sect); Earnest Evans (an Indiana Jones-style adventurer who helps Annet on her mission and faced Hastur previously) and Zigfried (former Vicente DeMarco right-hand man, who left the Vicente DeMarco gang and is a rather mysterious man, became a friend of Earnest and is well informed about what happens to Hastur and his followers.
The game is action and platform style, with good gameplay, good graphics for its time, great soundtrack (composed by Motoi Sakuraba) and greater details in history.
