Beware the serpentine threat within the deceptively simple Lumines constructions, for it is no mere snake. Should you sever one head, two more will take its place! But those two more are pretty much it, once you eliminate both within a reasonable timeframe, there's no more heads. So I guess this is a poor imitation of a hydra at best, but the thought still counts. Maybe.

But beware! Whatever head you cut off will return in due time as we pass back around to reach its number yet again! That means anything you can be asked to do once, you can be asked to do again... not so surprising at this point, obviously, but in its final throes, remember that it still throws some hefty punches as you're growing unduly comfortable with some little love taps.

I was actually impressed with how "usable" the whole starting sequence of pieces was... although I've less doubt than ever that it's not really the case most times, it's just a matter of how readily I figure out that a piece in hand IS something I need instead of whatever notion I've got in mind of what the piece I want "needs" to look like, or some reason why I "can't" use the piece I'm holding just because I want to cram it into the same square hole as the piece I think I want instead.

I have to admit, watching this, I couldn't help but be struck by the idea along the lines of "if ONLY that formation looked a little different"... when in fact it was more of what I needed than I could even tell. I'm glad other-me didn't fall into the same trap. Or maybe I did, I just happened to re-right my visual inspection of the field a little faster than now-me.
