[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [32] | Way of the Wizard | Mutant Mages | A Sickly Prince | Oracle
Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Strangeblood returned to Menevia after helping Medora Direnni regain her freedom, Strangeblood went back to The Mages' Guild to investigate what exactly it is that draws him to the place so.
The Mages' Guild first honoured Strangeblood with a promotion to the esteemed rank of Wizard. Then the quester gave him a descretionary task of eliminating some Mages who were trying to summon Daedra, but ended up chanting the wrong words, instead, turning into mutants in the form of Giants. Now, Strangeblood must eliminate them all six of them.
And so he did and returned to the Quester only to find that the Archmagister had some or the other hand in the matter and would rather that it be kept under wraps. With that, he asked Strangeblood to eliminate six more giants in a similar happenstance in a similar nearby dungeon. Of all the ways to be irresponsible with the power of magic and the sacrifices to pay in order to research it.
Strangeblood then returned to the Mages' Guild to be sent to fetch the Snake Venom of Julianos from a local dungeon seeing how it is the only cure for a sick noble, as if venom can ever be an antidote. But Strangeblood did as he was asked only to be thanked in Gold.
Finally, he was given a letter addressed to him and it turned out that an Oracel from Hammerfell was in need of his services and that he should meet her acolyte in the House of Dibella so that he may explain the situation better.
The acolyte explains that a noble from Menevia is in danger of being killed in 27 days and that she must be convinced to leave her home or risk demise. But she won't listen. So all Strangeblood can do now is talk to the noble, or escort the oracle to Menevia so that she may talk some sense into the young lady. Finally, the Oracle managed to talk the noble out of her home and Strangeblood was thanked for his task.
This is how Strangeblood walked the way of the Wizard:
