[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [35] | The Secret of Menevia | Order of Arkay | Great Evil | Cursed Weapon
3Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Strangeblood, still drawn to Menevia, travelled to Tunwick to the Order of Arkay to see if he could discover anything about the region while being of service to the Order, and hopefully, learning more about the nature of the universe.
The first quest that they gave Strangeblood was to deliver a cursed Orcish weapon, the Manshreiker, to their contact in Castle Ashsley who can keep the artefact safe from Orsimer hands.
When that was done, Strangeblood returned to the Order of Arkay to find that the temple had already secured yet another Manshreiker to deliver, this time to Sekadred. Strangeblood took his time completing this quest as well, although it took him far longer to find the contact who was, in fact, safely nestled away in a cranny of the dungeon.
Strangeblood finally asked the Order of Arkay for another quest in hopes of finding out what exactly it was that had been drawing him to Menevia all along. And there it was. The Order was sending him to destroy an artefact of great evil in a place called... Lysandus's Tomb. This is what Strangeblood had been looking for all along and as the pieces slowly fell before his eyes, it finally dawned on him just how misguided he had been about the whole affair surrounding the late King's demise and how there was more that met the eye.
At any rate, Strangeblood discovered this dungeon and destroyed the artefact therein to finally find his purpose here in Menevia.
