[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [36] | Bewitching Adventures | Witch Covens | Imprisoned Witch | PR
Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Strangeblood had been pondering the true nature of magic for quite some time now and having learnt all there is to learn from the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay, he now turns his attention towards an often ostracised side of it: The Witch covens scattered throughout the Illiac Bay.
With his first witch coven in Menevia, Strangeblood decides to travel to The Tamarilyn Coven and is greeted by quite a few young witches engaged in their strange rituals. He talks to the Beldama and seeks to gain favour with them by completing quests for them and gaining their trust.
The first quest they give him is an attempt at repairing public relations. Strangeblood is to travel to the nearby town of Newley and deliver a kidnapped child that the Witch Coven had rescued to the Moorton Residence. This act should change their perception in the eyes of the masses, but it comes with great risk. The child is highly sought after and there are many who would want to kill her for their own gains. And Strangeblood along with her.
Strangeblood returns to the Tamarylin Coven to receive his reward and yet another important quest to save an Imprisoned Witch from Castle Ashsley. He is given clothes for her to wear, even though everybody in the coven seems to like being in the nude. Strangeblood is to give her the clothes before he brings her back over to the Tamarilyn coven. It took a bit of searching for he had already cleared the dungeon once, but once he found the Witch, he escorted her back to the safety of the coven and received something in return.
Strangeblood soon realised that he has mostly cleared out all the dungeons in Menevia and that he should probably travel to Daggerfall so that he can find more variety and gain more experience to grow as a mercenary mage. So that's what he did, he travelled to The Coven on the Bluff in Daggerfall and decided to gain their favour instead.
The Beldama there told Strangeblood of a vampire menace that had been growing in Castle Carroghar. Strangeblood is to eliminate this menace and come back within 26 days for a shiny, enchanted blade. And that's what Strangeblood did before calling it a day.
