So I had been meaning to do this playthrough for a good while not, but A, I was waiting for all the DLC to release, as while I got the expansion pass early it was released in segments and wanted to wait till it was all out before I did it. And in addition, I wanted everyone to be mostly equal in levels or close enough and that took a lot of work and grinding to do. Regardless. Onto the game.The story begins with the Guardians of the Galaxy after some sort of little mission Rocket screwed them out of, and while everyone is totally sore at him for it, things take a sudden turn when a new scanner installed picks up something in a hidden Hala class Kree war ship. The first time we actually ever see the Kree in any capacity since we only heard of them in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1.


And it's clear to note, that while sharing the same name, this is a totally different continuity from the first two games. It's familiar but different, and the gameplay really differs since everyone is truly distinctive now, no more shared combos.Still, we have an area to get used to things and find that a trap had been set, which wasn't meant for us as we face off against Nebula whom runs away after defeat. Once we bust through a security terminal, we square off against Ronan, the second boss of chapter 1 not that long after facing off against Nebula. And once he's defeated, we discover through Proxima Midnight's arrival, that the ship housed all the Infinity Stones. After snatching the Space Stone, we find ourselves trapped in an elaborate cell somewhere, and after getting out we have a jail break to contend with, and find Spider-Man dealing with the escaping criminals as well.Turns out we ended up on the Raft, a place exclusive for Super Power Villains, in other words, criminals who won't shy away from beating us senseless.


After having a quick spat against Sandman, as there's mainly Spider-Man foes stashed away in here, our initial set of cast members arrive, which is normally where we can now finally switch out our characters for the first time.I obey who's available and when they appear in the story, mostly for this run. With only one creative liberty but otherwise I don't really use the DLC characters here although they are some of my favorites here. Unlike in MUA1, I change out most of my characters here because it's a lot quicker than in the first game.
