Recorded with MAME 0.119+.

For some reason, while recording this game into uncompressed parts, and then compressed parts with Final Burn Alpha-RR, the sound would later become desynced with the video.

So I had to use MAME instead to record this game uncompressed WHILE playing through it, and it would split itself into multiple parts for space instead of me having to do that myself.

It looks I'll have to record the game this way if I want it to look and stay efficient.

After X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and its followup Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, the Capcom vs. became whole with this game Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Superheroes.

Like the Marvel side started using more than just their X-Men, the Capcom side joins in, too, making use of more than just their Street Fighters, so we also get to see the likes of Mega Man, Captain Commando, Cyberbots' Jin Saotome, & Strider Hiryu.

The game's fighting system follows up on XvsSF's tag team fighting and MSHvsSF's Assists by adding in characters, new and old to the series, as exclusive assist characters that have a limited amount of uses.

In this playthrough, I beat this game using Mega Man & Spider-Man, two superheroes that enjoy the "Man" in their names. Spider-Man's a veteran, while Mega Man debuts utilizing his weapon-adapting abilities for the fight alongside his Mega Buster. He also uses Rush, Beat, & Eddie for some of his attacks and to set up others. Roll and Dr. Light also have a chance at appearing in one of the Blue Bomber's victory poses.

On the last stage, your two characters have to fight against the final boss known as Onslaught, a being that was created through the powers and consciousnesses of Professor Xavier & Magneto.

The "plot" of this game was sparked when Professor X was at risk of becoming Onslaught, and needed more than just the X-Men & the rest of the Marvel Super Heroes to stop and save him, so he summoned several Capcom heroes as well.

Onslaught first form looks like a giant mechanized Magneto, who uses more powerful version of Magneto's moves. He can't be flinched so easily, and he can teleport even while he is. If your character can crouch low enough, through, you can dodge some of his attacks.

His 2nd & final form makes him even more gigantic, and his main weakspot is his skull-like head. If you can beat him here, you'll defeat him for good and save Professor X.

Whichever character landed the last hit on Onslaught to defeat him, is the one who get his or her ending shown. Mega Man's ending has him again one of Onslaught's powers: Magnetic Shockwave!

This game's ending credits is probably the best one throughout the whole Capcom vs. series. It features all of the exclusive assist characters interacting with each other in different ways. Roll's actions stand out the most here.

Sometimes, I wonder if these assist characters are the main characters of this game, not the playable ones...

--------------

The online port of this game is now available for Xbox Live & PSN alongside Marvel Super Heroes in a compilation called Marvel vs. Capcom Origins. Although the version I play here is the original arcade version, let this video raise awareness of its online version!
