Мастер (Master): Part 1
Another ZX Spectrum clone from the early 90s - this one has obviously much cheaper construction than the Icarus (Икар). I think it might be Russian - uses lots of Angstrem parts.
The board states "© Angstrem VLSI Design 1991" and it uses an Angstrem ULA to cut down on component count & cost.
The other components:
[1] A very nice ceramic Z80-clone labelled "80A-CPU"
[2] An Angstrem КА1515ХМ1-216 ULA
[3] A КР580ВВ55А (Intel 8255 clone) proclaiming "СДЕЛАНО В СССР" (MADE IN USSR)
[4] An Angstrem Т34РЕ1 ROM (16KB or 32KB?)
[5] Eight КР565РУ5 64Kbit DRAMs
Interestingly it has a 5-pin DIN for combined +5VDC power input and cassette interface (MG = magnetophone). The cable runs from the regulated power supply to the socket on the machine, then has two additional DIN plugs for the cassette read/write.
The other DIN ports are a 7-pin for a Sinclair joystick and a 7-pin DIN for RGBS and sound. There is no internal speaker, although one could probably be installed.
I gave the case & boards a clean. I converted the power/cassette cable to use a USB Type A plug for power rather than the original power supply.
I have had very little (zero) success with any machine using a КА1515ХМ1 ULA so I don't expect much from this one ... but let's see!
