Something strange always going on in the world of Max Payne.

0:00 - Chapter 9-3. (Not on the vid: upon first loading the game, you get a very long loading screen, followed up retry / quit screen. Retrying gives you some more loading, but then the Checkpoint begins.)

At first the lighting is all screwed up, but it becomes fixed at the end of the intro. Then things proceed as normal, and Max even has a gun. Played onward to next Checkpoint and things worked out fine.

0:16 - Chapter 9-4. (Not on the vid: Upon first loading the game, you get a very long loading screen, followed up by retry / quit screen. After retrying, the game finally loads the Checkpoint.)

The lighting is screwed up, but becomes fixed at the end of the intro. Max also lacks a gun.

0:34 - If you get a gun and play onward, the level may work normally right now. But on one occasion things glitched up pretty bad: before reaching next Checkpoint, the game started lagging a lot and all audio went quiet. I persisted and played to the next Checkpoint, and the game eventually crashed. Not sure if this has any relation to the glitch where audio goes quiet in Chapter 2-2 on occasion?

1:20 - Chapter 9-5. Max starts somewhere out of bounds, falling to his death. Retrying causes the same thing to happen again and again.

(Not on the vid: Chapter 9-6 is very similar to Chapter 9-5 result.)

1:44 - Chapter 9-7. Max starts the set piece without a gun, and is unable to win it.

2:07 - Chapter 9-8. (Not on the vid: Upon first loading the game, you get a very long loading screen, followed up by retry / quit screen.)

After retrying, Max is somewhere out of bounds falling to his death. The skybox also looks very pale and strange, and you can see assorted objects floating in the area. Nice visuals, but you're stuck falling and can't get to anywhere like this.

2:42 - Chapter 9-9. (Not on the vid: Upon first loading the game, you get a very long loading screen, followed up by retry / quit screen.)

After retry, Max appears on a bare landscape, like moon's surface, except more brown. But in a second or two the environment loads, and then Max is left to play the Checkpoint like normal, although he lacks a gun. Playing onward seems to work like normal (only tried until Chapter 9-10 though).

After retry, Max starts the Checkpoint like normal, except without a gun. I didn't try playing onward to see if everything is normal.

3:11 - Chapter 9-11. The Checkpoint seems to start like normal. But after beating the bad guy, the lighting suddenly changes to very bright daytime, and so the level outro is seen in this strange condition.

5:24 - a bonus clip. Pause buffering yielded this interesting still frame right at the end of Chapter 9.

6:04 - another bonus clip. This is what it looks like if you enter the helicopter set piece in Chapter 9-7 with a long gun but no handgun.
