Here are some other small mechanics oddities I found while casually glitching The Evil Within. Remains to be seen if I'll play some more of it at some point.

0:00 - invisible weapon melee attacks. If you start attacking with Crossbow or Rifle-type weapons as you switch away from them, you start doing the melee strikes without the weapon in hand. I think the attack works like normal, even though it doesn't look normal.

0:19 - with precise timing, you can combine an unarmed melee hit and the lantern animation to create a glitched punch. It still hits things in the vicinity, even though it lacks an animation.

0:32 - a variation where Sebastian's body does the punch but his arms are fiddling with the lantern, or otherwise passive.

0:43 - you can glitch up vault animations using the lantern too. This trick is the easiest to do in "window" vault spots where Sebastian clambers through some opening.

Note that you must be standing still and not use L-stick to get the right type of lantern animation which glitches things up. You also get slightly different results depending on your timing.

0:59 - "fence" vault spots are a bit harder. This is because merely pressing X doesn't vault Sebastian here - instead, you got to have forward momentum AND press X to vault. So the exact timing for doing the glitch is kind of hard to get. You got to first run with Sebastian, then stop and quickly do the combination of lantern + vault. I also like to hold crouch while doing this glitch, but I can't remember if it was absolutely necessary.

In this kind of vault spots it sometimes looks like Sebastian could breach the floor, but so far it has never happened.

1:07 - finally, here's a "climb" vault spot. The theory is the same as with "fence" vault spot.

1:14 - I got some unique effects while testing this near these sandbags. Since I held crouch while doing the glitch, Sebastian is at the end in a mixed state of being crouched and upright. He is standing up, but he has no animation at all, so it looks like he is frozen. His mouth is also moving by itself, and activating lantern has no animation.

1:55 - turning off lantern at the right time while vaulting / doing the above, you get a harmless glitch where Sebastian is holding out a dim lantern.

2:11 - an alternative way to do the strange glitch where you sink into switches is to reload at the same time you try to use the switch.
