This Star Man is not to be confused with the Starman powerup of the Super Mario series, nor is his to be confused with the alien of different forms from Earthbound.

Mega Man 5's Star Man was made to battle in space. His stage reflects this, as it takes place in a Space Station. All of the gravity is lower, so Mega Man can jump much higher.

The stage takes advantage of this by having spikes on the ceiling. The 2nd "M" in "MEGAMANV" is situation right under some spikes. Just release the A button as so as you get the "M" and you shouldn't jump high enough to touch and die from the spikes.

Star Man is weak to Water Wave. Defeat him to get his weapon, the next shield weapon of the series: Star Crash.

You also get the Super Arrow. It can be used as a weapon and as a platform.
