This copy of the game I'm playing is kinda faulty, but it holds up until 2:58 - 3:15. I've had it since the Christmas of 1999, so I may run into some problems that will keep me from finishing this game, or at the very least make it rough to look at, such as during certain cutscenes.

It helps that I'm running this game on my PS2 instead of a PS1.

I have come to realize that American, Japanese, and even the European versions of this game have their own distinct differences in voices and names. The European version, in particular, has its own English dub.

The version I'm playing here is American English.

--------------

Here's what the game's intro is summarizing:

A rare albino monkey named Specter came across a special helmet: The Peak Point Helmet. He puts it on and turns very smart & evil. He escapes the monkey park he was in along with all of the other apes that he freed.

During a showcase of different colorful allies, the intro shows many monkeys on the loose, causing all sorts of mayhem and going bananas. The game's hero, Spike, has to catch 'em all!

--------------

In the actual prologue, Spike & his best friend Jake are dashing towards the Professor's laboratory, as they are eager to try out his brand new Time Station.

However, when they get inside, the Professor & his granddaughter, Natalie, are tied up in ropes by the monkeys that have just taken over the lab. The evil Specter leads this takeover, and makes one of his monkey minions activate the Time Station.

Together, Specter, the monkeys, as well as Spike & Jake, all get warped through time. The Professor is thrilled to see that the Time Station works, but Natalie has to remind him that they now have a big problem on their hands...
