Time for the fortress levels, and as per tradition, they throw a little bit of everything at you. This stage in particular is very Rush Jet heavy as there are multiple areas with long stretches of either spikes or bottomless pits that you can't cross without it. The boss for this stage is also very Mega Man 2 inspired as once you enter the area, the game changes to an autoscroller as you jump across narrow platforms, and the boss will appear on the left side of the screen to chase you until you reach the arena just like the Mech Dragon. And much like the Mech Dragon, getting hit is very costly as the knockback is just long enough to knock you into the pit. __
