Mega Man X4 (X): Cyber Peacock | No Damage | Stock Arm Only
Mega Man X4 (PS1), no damage taken in Cyber Space (Cyber Peacock). This is a re-uploaded series called "Arm Parts Only", which is a challenge run where I can only get the arm upgrade (Stock Shot). This means limited special weapon ammo until the end, and allows for some strategic speedrunning with the stock shot.
Cyber Space (Cyber Peacock) Overview:
This place is essentially a speedrunning stage, as my difficulty overview stated. Going more into detail on that, Cyber Space's difficulty varies from player to player. If you're decent at speedrunning, then it'll be one of the easiest stages in the game for you, minus a bit of platforming challenges in the second half. If you're not much of the speedrunner and more of the conservative type (I respect that), the stage might give you some problems, though it's still overall not too hard for the average player. For one, if you're trying to avoid the yellow orbs (like I am) as opposed to trying to destroying them, you're going to have to memorize their placement. Otherwise, you're going to find yourself getting grabbed A LOT and failing to get that S Rank at the end of each section (though in my case, getting it is optional since this isn't 100% item collection). The second half of the stage is more timing based, so it can be a bit easier for the conservative type player in this scenario because there's no yellow orbs to worry about. Though for any player: if you take your time, this stage is self-explanatory. Don't speed through if you're not confident enough or well-versed with memorization of it.
Cyber Peacock on the other hand is one of the more easier bosses of the X4 line-up. He'll always attempt to reappear at your current position, so luring him into a safe spot, then shooting him from a distance is nearly the entire battle until you get up to his desperation phase. Again, if you're not a very mobile type of player, this might actually be a problem if you don't weakness abuse him out of it (Soul Body for X, Ryuuenjin for Zero). The homing lasers are just as fast as you are while dashing, so if you don't start moving as soon as one of them get close to you, you're getting smacked. There's two ways of avoiding these: First (and safest) option is to utilize the strategy I use here by wall jumping. This stalls for enough time for the laser to explode on it's own, giving you a free shot on Peacock upon your return, then repeating the cycle. The second method is standing under him and jumping over the laser as it does as many cycles as possible before exploding. Arguably, this is more effective because you can get more hits off Peacock since you aren't playing cat and mouse with the laser. But eh. I just use the first method because it looks cooler, lol.
