Mega Man X4 (PS1), no damage taken in the Jungle Area (Web Spider) as X. This is a re-uploaded series called "Arm Parts Only", which is a challenge run where I can only get the arm upgrade (Stock Shot). This means limited special weapon ammo until the end, and allows for some strategic speedrunning.

Jungle Area (Web Spider) Overview:

Once more, we're unable to actually "start" the Arm Parts Only challenge due to... well, not being equipped to actually GET the part. That's what we're here for. Still, Jungle Area's a good place to start practically any type of run. The stage itself is fairly simple (as is most stages in X4, tbh. It's a very easy game), and you can speed through it very cleanly. You put yourself at more risk going fast, but it's well worth it. The only enemies you should be careful around are the mermen with the tridents. They behave completely at random, so your best bet is to kill them before they can even act. At least... the one's barring your path. Most of them you can just dash on past.

The second area isn't too crazy, either. The mermen are gone, but you've got mini-spiders and their webs to worry about. The line that shoots out depends on your current position, so it's best to time your jumps properly to avoid them from spawning from a bad angle. The webs near the end though, you need to lure them into certain angles so you can freely traverse without the spiders coming out to hit you. This part's no issue with Zero, since he can just kill them via landing with an air slash. But for X, you'd have to stop in your tracks and kill them from the wall if their web line lands horizontally on your path. Those snakes are sneaky, by the way. It should be self-explanatory which snake I'm talking about when you see it near the end... Regardless, you'll have to slow down at some point to deal with it.

Web Spider himself... Well, he's actually easier with X. No matter the height Spider drops, X can always hit him without issue. Dodging his webs is also easy because they lock onto you position on the ground, the fly upwards once it misses. They're very simple and self-explanatory to lure. His deperation phase isn't something to underestimate, however. Again, X has an easier time here, but You still have to be wary of it's spider babies. They're a non-issue if you can PERFECTLY time a charged shot as soon as Web Spider releases them. If you miss... well, you'll have to do some dodging. It's nothing terribly hard, but you'll need some decent reflexes and patience, at least.
