After fighting off the Cyborg Ninja and meeting Otacon, time to find Meryl. She's actually on Floor B1 of this building. She's disguised as a guard, but you can tell her apart by the way she walks. Let her see you and then chase her into the bathroom and you'll meet Meryl face to face. The two talk for a bit,and she explains she became a soldier in order to try and understand her father more. The guards will clear out after the cutscene,so now's the perfect time to get the items around this floor. Meryl even gives you her Level 5 PAN Card. You can grab Cardboard Box B with your new card,as well as Diazepam,a drug that steadies aim for sniper rifles. Head through the other level 5 door in the hall to continue. Here,Meryl ends up possessed by Psyco Mantis. Use a Stun grenade to knock her out,and Mantis will reveal himself, and show you his telekinetic powers. BOSS FIGHT: Psycho Mantis. Right at the start of the fight, plug your controller into Slot 2,otherwise Mantis will dodge all your attacks. If you can't see him, throw on Thermal Goggles to see his every move. The Socom should suffice for this battle. Mantis can fire blasts of psychic energy at you,and use objects in the room to toss at you. You can dodge most of them by crawling, but some you can't. If he attempts to possess Meryl again, just use a Stun Grenade again. After Mantis is defeated,he'll talk about his past before he dies, and open the way forward for you.
