Metal Sonic Bootleg CC4 Rig
After contemplating throwing in the towel on Metal Sonic having inverted knees and having to go back and complete re arrange his legs to be more cannon, I stumbled across a reverse IK switch inside CC4. They still dont even have any tutorials about this mess in CC4 as the software literally just came out this summer and still hardly any in depth info on all the tricks. Major selling point for me one I cant rig or animate, two never have I known a DCC app that could let you strip a mesh off, recombine it and or completely shift it around the skeleton after its already been completed skin weighted. you can literally take independent chunks of mesh off and replace no issue and just a few seconds for the thing to recalculate and give you your edited rig right back. If you are like me, a modeler who cannot rig or animate at all this might be the tool to grab. Reallusion CC4 + iClone (you will need iclone for actually doing the animation editing) Obviously I still have some skin weight things to brush up, trying to cheat the neck pistons for now but will try other things if its a problem-problem later.
Already got CC4 and dont know where to start with your custom character? Here is the walkthrough I followed to get started. https://youtu.be/Ibm4izMxLBg
Its like Accurigs online version but way better, more control. AccuRig online is too automatic and you have no option to get in there and flip IKs even though its the same software company. Paid version obviously has its perks I suppose.
