Auto Rigging, Issa no for me
So after trying to go down many shortcut rabbit holes, from Maya's human IK, to Mixamo to now AccuRig I am at a total stand still on my next works until I can find a faster way to paint skin weights. Robotnic is for all intents and purposes finally rebound to an avatar inside of Character Creator 3. Im still on the fence about buying the version 4 software as Im not sure its worth all that yet. But why CC3 you may ask? Facial rigging is included, thats why. Their weight paint tools are not great so its taking me a while to drop anything new. Please sit tight while I figure some things out.
For now I have not looked into Meta Humans stuff because I need a reliable way to do mocap. CC3 with iclone offers not only mocap but live face capture so I think Ill stay with these tools for now. Please lend me any suggestions if there is an easier pipeline. I an not and animator or a rigger, just a modeler/texturer dude so I completely have no idea what I am doing here lol. Let's suffice it to say I wont touch auto rigging anything any time soon because its clear it only works for basically single mesh type body characters which do not have inverted knees and cant have any hard static accessory/gear meshes because they will always it weighted to some other bones and look wobbly in motion when they should be stiff and static as hell.
