Here is a walkthrough of me going through Metroid: Other M for the Wii. I am getting a 100% completion which is only in terms of item pickups.

Samus and the 07th Platoon encounter the Brug Mass, which is a bunch of Brugs compiled around an Emperor Brug. Adam eventually authorizes Samus to use her Missile Launcher, and they are able to defeat the Brug Mass. After that, they finally begin their mission on the Bottle Ship. I find a bunch of expansions along the way thanks to the Bombs. A new expansion introduced here is the Energy Part, which is exactly like the Legend of Zelda's Heart Pieces. Find four of them, and they will combine to give Samus another Energy Tank.
