Micolash host of the nightmare is the first boss in the nightmare of Mensis and except for a call beyond, he's a joke of a boss. The fight tries to make up for this with a Tom & Jerry chase vibe but it comes across as more annoying than anything

The first "phase" if you can even call it that, involves Micolash running away( Get used to it now) until eventually he ends up in a huge square room with a few marionettes. All he seemingly does at this point is augur of Ebrietas and punch. Meaning just dodge forward, charge attack his back, easy viscerals.

At around 50% he enters phase 2, aka the most annoying phase. Maybe it's because I explored, but he will eventually run into a room and lock a gate. This is to your advantage however as now Micolash is trapped in there.

So go back up the stairs drop down and get ready for the hardest phase of the fight. In phase 2 he gains a call beyond, which is very difficult to dodge. Best way I've found is to dodge TOWARD him, dodging back or to the side is risky but doable. You really want to stay close to him in this phase, as he doesn't use it much if you're close by.

Thinking about it, you may be able to shorten phase 2 by not dropping down into the locked room and simply shooting him either with a cannon, or throwing knives. I haven't tested this obviously but if you can lock onto him down there it may be possible.

Otherwise drop down, you can in theory hit him with a falling attack, but if you miss he's probably going to use a call beyond which can easily one shot you unless you land in the perfect spot (Like I did somehow)

For the actual level, nightmare of mensis is not an easy place to explore for now. There is an eye rune I missed, simply head back to the beginning of the level from the mergo's loft base lamp (Meaning the shortcut lamp). Kill 3 or 4 giants and it's right there.
