Our next destination is home to Seath the Scaleless, the Duke's Archives. The archives is a unique location in Dark Souls, mainly in that under normal circumstances (Meaning no breaking the game jumps) you HAVE to die.

This is pretty the much THE reason you should be saving your rings of sacrifice, if this event wasn't what they're made for I don't know what was. Seriously just don't even try and hit Seath in the 1st encounter, he regenerates health wayyyy too fast to have a hope.

The prison break is where a lot of folks have trouble, I certainly know why. I've died my fair share in this portion of the game before. The trick? Tactical retreats, and a tactic that is very much ignored. Kicking enemies off ladders by hitting r2. No really, that is a fantastic strategy right after the alarm rings as it's much safer to fight one snake man up the ladder than 2 in that tiny area.

Beyond that, it's knowing how to deal with the abominations let loose. They're easily staggered and as long as you only fight 1 or maybe even 2 they're easy to kill. Just don't let them hug you.. I don't trust those tentacles.
