Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos S20 Let's PLay Bloodborne
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos is a fairly difficult fight found toward the end of Upper Cathedral ward, and she's a real handful without proper strategy. Ebrietas has 3 phases that I've seen so far, getting progressively more difficult as the fight goes on.
The 1st phase is the easiest, mainly because she prefers to fight with physical attacks. Easiest strategy for this phase is to stay near her tail, swing with a one handed weapon and roll (not quickstep) IN the direction she swings. When you learn the pattern you can consistently have her swinging in circles and easily lop off 2k damage in a combo.
Phase 2 is when things start getting dicey with Ebrietas. She gains a number of attacks that really hurt. Including puking/ spitting blood which of course induces frenzy. If you're behind her as she does it, it's an easy 2-3 hits, otherwise roll away. (I find locking on terrible for this fight, YMMV.)
She also gains a damage aura as if things weren't chaotic enough. Thankfully during her cast time she's EXTREMELY vulnerable, smack her face enough and it's easy to stagger her for a visceral.
The 3rd phase is the most annoying and deadly, she gains a new attack that summons frickin' laser beams from the sky. They lock onto you, but if you're playing solo/host you can learn the timing fairly easily. Good luck co-oping with folks over seas though, it's real easy to die to it online.
She also will occasionally try and give you a real real deep kiss. Like so deep you're IN her mouth, and then promptly chews around 6-8 times dealing significant damage if not outright killing most hunters. (This was the reason for the 3rd death, it was a very quick embarassing death I tried to blank it from memory.)
If you're having trouble with Ebrietas' charge move, it's fairly simple to dodge. She has a tell before she charges, so make sure to de lock on and sprint wildly to either left or right. If you're too late, STAY in the middle. Seriously you take much less damage if ONLY her head hits you compared to if you miss the dodge you get hit by both her head and her tentacles in the charge, resulting in more damage.
Beyond the strategy, this is definitely a fight practice helps with. Summons are useful, I usually end up distracting Ebrietas for the host and they get free and easy hits, just make sure if you do this to always be sprinting left or right if she's a good distance away looking at you. Sucks to die to a charge late in the fight.
