These few last months I've worked on a project involving getting my Atari Mega STe expanded as much as possible, while keeping a vanilla external appearance, including peripherals.

Unfortunately there are not many Joysticks or Joypad compatible with the Atari DB-9 format if you are interested in other colors than combinations of red and black.

I stumbled upon the Atari Arcade Duo-powered while looking for something which would look the part, but it was all a bet on the fact the internals would be easier to mod.

So there you go, the device was cheap (there are plenty on eBay), it is trivial to modify, and it looks quite good if you are ok with the pseudo futuristic retro style.

The internals are surprisingly well done, so all in all, it's not a bad alternative to the usual Quickshot, Competition Pro or Atari CX40
