MiSTer FPGA - Puzz Loop 2 / Capcom CPS-2 Arcade [BETA]
This fun puzzle game series spawned a bunch of clones in the early 2000's, including one I played often on an old jog-wheel iPod: Zuma. That control scheme worked perfectly for it, with the rotating click wheel, but using an arcade stick takes a bit of getting used to in comparison. Still pretty easy once you get the hang of it- this game is a lot of fun and well worth getting fluent with the control scheme.
Frantic and fast paced at times, it'll definitely keep you on the edge of your seat if you try to progress anywhere past the first couple stages. There are some neat variations to the standard gameplay style here, where you combo larger colored orbs to take out entire sections at once. I tried both game styles in the video and they were both pretty damn good.
Highly recommended if you want a slick and addictively-fun puzzle game. This series is in the same tier of excellence as the Bust a Move (Puzzle Bobble) series. It's that good, and after playing for a while it's apparent why so many other companies went out of their way to copy this game type for other platforms. Another hit on Capcom's CPS2 hardware, and this time something a bit more unique.
