[Moonblood] MAP19: Obstructed Zone (UV-Max Demo)
we're deep into one of moonblood's trickier sections now. this is probably the least bad of this triptych of maps (18-20), although it definitely has its moments. like the start which will burn your tongue off if you're not careful. the strategy i came up with is at least reasonably consistent at getting through in one piece. my least favorite part comes up shortly thereafter with grabbing the rocket launcher; i find teleporting the player without warning like that super disorienting and unpleasant. then it's on to clearing out the center area filled with hitscanners - not hard but can go bad very quickly if you're not paying attention. going through here also lets you get the jump on a particularly pesky archvile and grab the BFG. the archvile blocking the way outside is best saved for now, because otherwise the revenants and it teleport around and cause a huge hassle. the cyberdemon duel outside isn't so bad if you're paying attention - i managed to get it stuck, and was pretty wary that it was, in fact, not stuck. then the finale features a pretty tame crowd of imps that can't do a lot, followed by a much spicier addition of revenants and archviles when you try to leave. hopefully you saved some cells.
