This is a playthrough of single player mode using Jade in the Genesis/Mega Drive version of Mortal Kombat II. Read on below for more information...

Jade is a hidden CPU-only character in the game, which makes her a non-selectable/unplayable character.

===== ABOUT MK2 JADE =====

Jade is an unplayable/non-selectable hidden character in all official versions of MKII. Even if you used external methods (such as Action Replay, Game Genie, etc.) to select her and the player tried controlling her, it would cause the game to crash, making it somewhat pointless unless you did it for curiosity or/and experimental purposes. Literally anything you did with her caused the game to crash, and this applies especially to the Arcade and SNES versions.

===== ABOUT GENESIS MK2 JADE =====

The Genesis version of Jade however, is a bit different because under human control, as she is far more "lenient-from-crashing" than the Arcade and SNES versions of her. You can do far more things with her without crashing the game.

Another thing that helps greatly is the fact that Jade is a semi-clone of Kitana, meaning that she has the structure of a regular character, which means that you won't get the sprite/animation problems you would have with Kintaro and Shao Kahn. This means that you can actually *almost* play her completely like a regular character without the game crashing, making it possible to actually beat the game with her in single-player mode, as long as you're careful and avoid doing the few things which can crash the game! Here is more detailed information on Jade:

===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====

---- Despite being an unplayable character, she actually has 4 "special moves" available when controlled by a human player, as follows:

1) Kitana's Fan Throw. This works perfectly and is the same one the CPU Jade uses! Command to use it is Forward, Forward + LP + HP (same as Kitana's command).

2) A glitched version of Kitana's Square Wave Punch. When performed, Jade uses her crouching sprites during the move. It CAN hit the opponent because Jade will do the air punch only if there is contact with an opponent in the air. This is also great for getting out of corners. Command to use this is Forward, Down, Back or Half Circle Back. No button press needed.

3) A glitched "special move" where she keeps walking quickly on the spot. This does not hurt the opponent. This "move" is most likely Kitana's Fan Lift move but it cannot progress. When Jade is doing this walking-on-the-spot move she needs to be hit out of it to regain control. Command to use this is Back, Back, Back, no button needed. The CPU opponents do react to this move though. You can see an example of this move starting around 05:19 in the video.

4) A glitched air "special move" where she goes into her neutral stance in the air and stays there. It does not hurt the opponent. This is most likely Kitana's Air Fan Toss move but it cannot progress. When Jade is doing the air neutral stance she needs to be hit out of it to regain control. Command to do this is Forward, Forward + LP + HP whilst jumping in the air. The CPU opponents do react to this move though. You can see an example of this move starting around 12:51 in the video.

---- Her close-up LK or HK (the knee move), if it hits, has a long delay before recovering. You can see an example of this starting around 20:27 in the video.

---- She is invulnerable to projectile attacks, just like the CPU Jade.

---- If Jade is in a match, the text "Now You Must Return To The Outworld" will appear after she wins or gets defeated.

---- She can appear on the character select screen, and he even has the proper pose when you confirm her.

---- When playing as her as a registered character, she is locked to the Blue Portal stage in fights. Even Kintaro and Shao Kahn (who are both usually locked on the Kahn's Arena stage) are forced to appear on the Blue Portal if Jade is present.

---- Her icon on the "battle plan" screen is the [?] icon.

---- If you manage to beat the game with her, the game will crash because she does not have an ending programmed in.

---- She receives generally lower damage than the regular characters. This is normal as it is the same case as CPU Jade

---- As a specialist character (hidden), there is no "Finish Him/Her" feature when she is present.

---- Sprites-wise, she is a palette swap of Kitana.

---- Due to her "special move" commands, it indicates that they created Jade using Kitana as the base character.
