These little critters just won't stop stealing your precious mushroom. Put power into your weaponry in this fun defense-style shooting game called Mushroom Madness! What you must do is to simply protect the mushrooms from different creatures that will try to steal. Use your spatula to smack them until they are eliminated. You will get good ratings if all mushrooms are protected. Each level has side missions as well. Try to complete all the side missions to get perfect stars and extra money. Visit the upgrade menu and buy different upgrades like hit power, recharge time, and stun. Other weapons will be unlocked too as you progress!

Overview:

The game has a lot of precious mushroom glades that need taking care of. You don’t necessarily have to grow them but rather you have to protect them from the invading fauna that wants to eat these mushrooms. It’s your job in Mushroom Madness to take care of these animals that want to devour your mushrooms. You are armed with your guns, traps, bombs and fly swatter? You have to take care of these invaders so that the mushrooms can live another day.

Aesthetics:

The game’s visuals are kind of simple and generic in a sense. Each stage does take place in one screen but that’s not say that the visuals are bad. They’re just good and nothing more to them. The visuals aren’t bad enough that you would stop playing the game. The critters themselves are well animated but again not something to special. The music is kind of distinct as it plays synthetic rock music that doesn’t quite make sense given the garden background. Perhaps that’s just the gardener’s preferred music. Once again the music isn’t bad but feels kind of out of place in some instances.

Gameplay:

Your job as we stated is to protect the mushrooms for each stage. You may lose a few of them but losing all of them will merit a game over. If you do lose a lot without sparking a game over will give you very little rewards in terms of the money you get at the end of each level. You need to protect these mushrooms from hedgehogs, bears, spiders and birds. The good thing is that the hedgehogs and birds can still drop the mushrooms if you kill them before they exit the screen. The bears on the other hand will eat the mushrooms on the spot so get rid of them really fast. Your weapon is a fly swatter that you need to tap on the enemy to kill it. You need to have fast hands and fast fingers for swatting away the critters numerous times since they won’t die with one swat. You will also get different weapons like a gun but it has limited ammo but is slightly more powerful than the swatter. You can also get bear trap that can instantly kill bears and hedgehogs but will last after a few bites. Then there’s the bomb which can kill a lot of enemies in one hit in a small area. In some levels there will also be boxes made of cardboard, wood and metal. The cardboard ones can be destroyed with the swatter, the wooden ones with a bomb and the metal ones can be opened with the use of a key. In the end of each level you have the chance to upgrade your weapons with the use of the money that you get per level. The upgrades do get more expensive as the levels go up. Do you have the speed to get rid of the invading critters? The levels get faster as the game progresses.
