I live stream 8-bit Nintendo games at least once a week, usually WedNESdays from 10–11 p.m. Eastern, and sometimes on Friday nights.

MINI-REVIEW: I could have written this before even playing the game, because I was expecting it to be as good as the first one. It's been a while since I played that game, but I didn't notice any major differences; the one addition to gameplay, the "Super Throw," is tricky to pull off and not terribly useful, and there seem to be fewer concrete blocks or bolts or whatever they were... just lots and lots of boxes. The levels have a little more diversity than the first too, including a timed ice level, and a three-part, key-finding quest for the final stage—where my run ended. The story is also rather ridiculous.

I think in some ways the gameplay uses your expectations against you, but overall this was fun, the controls were tight, the graphics are great, and I want to play more of it! The difficulty probably skews more on the easy side, but that said, I used up all my continues and fell short of completing the game. The challenge felt pretty balanced, and I felt like my deaths weren't cheap, they were my fault. I highly recommend this game if you can find the cart for a reasonable price (ha ha), but also suggest you just pick up the Disney Afternoon Collection, which offers all the Capcom Disney NES games and a lovingly curated museum of related ephemera.
