0Ammo and Oxygen is an exciting top-down shooter-roguelike with survival elements currently in development. In this game, survival hinges on managing limited resources like ammo, health, oxygen, and flashlight batteries. Players must explore the environment carefully to scavenge these vital supplies. You can carry up to three weapons: a melee weapon, a pistol, and a larger firearm (such as a shotgun, sniper rifle, SMG, grenade launcher, or minigun). Each weapon offers a unique playstyle, and collecting a full set of a specific weapon type unlocks upgrades like increased ammo capacity and reduced weapon spread. When starting a new round, you can also select your starting weapon.
The game features a dynamic day-night cycle, with resources replenishing during the day and difficulty escalating at night. As night falls, enemies become more dangerous, and gunfire attracts additional threats. Stealth may sometimes be a better option than fighting. You’ll need to find safe spots to rest and recover oxygen during the day, but skipping sleep will make surviving the next day harder.
Ammo and Oxygen includes two distinct ecosystems, though some players may find the environments repetitive. However, adrenaline-pumping music and immersive atmosphere help keep the tension high. The game currently supports both single-player and local co-op for up to four players, with online multiplayer planned for future updates. While the graphics are solid, occasional bugs—like enemies getting stuck in the environment—are present but don't significantly detract from the experience and will likely be addressed in future patches.
Looking ahead, the developers plan to add destructible objects, secret rooms, and random events to further enrich the gameplay. Although Ammo and Oxygen isn’t yet a standout title in the roguelike genre, its potential is clear. With continued updates and new features, it could evolve into a top-tier game.
