Nitrux is a Debian-based Linux distribution, suitable for laptops and desktop computers, with the beautiful NX Desktop and MauiKit applications.
Its main desktop environment is Nomad, a KDE Plasma desktop enhanced with “plasmoids to create a special combination of aesthetics and functionality.
On top of this, the project also focuses on creating redistributable applications using the AppImage format.
Now, Uri Herrera of the Nitrux project has announced the release of Nitrux 1.4.1, the first point release ISO of the 1.4 series .

The monthly release cycle continues, and Nitrux 1.4.1 has arrived as the ISO release for May 2021, bringing the latest KDE applications and the Plasma desktop environment. Included, you can find KDE Plasma 5.21.5, KDE Gear 21.04.1, as well as KDE Frameworks 5.82.0.
In addition, Nitrux 1.4.1 comes with the latest LibreOffice 7.1.3 office suite, Mozilla Firefox 88.0.1 web browser, Inkscape 1.1 vector graphics editor, Kdenlive 21.04.1 video editor, and Linux kernel 5.10.35 LTS as default kernel.
Two new apps have emerged in this new release of Nitrux, such as Heroic Games Launcher for launching games from the Epic Games Store, as well as Pacstall, a command-line utility to help you install even more apps that aren't available as DEB packages for Debian based distros.
To make Nitrux 1.4.1 even more complete, the KDE Plasma environment has been enriched with a new application, called Plasma System Monitor, which replaces the old system monitoring application KSysGuard (KDE System Guard). In addition, the Parachute overview and plasma-hud have been updated to make your workflow more productive.
Of course, Nitrux 1.4.1 also supports Linux 5.4 LTS and the latest Linux 5.12 kernel series, which has been updated to Linux 5.4.122 and Linux 5.12.7. They can be installed from the distro repositories.
However, this release removes the MirBSD Korn Shell (mksh) from the distribution and changes the /bin/sh link to point to the GNU Bash shell, as it caused problems with several upstream packages.
Finally, this update also updated the SDDM login screen to make the login button work correctly.
