And Kernel 5.12 has already arrived on Fedora Linux 34, shortly after Greg Kroah-Hartman's announcement that the 5.11 kernel has reached the end of its life.

Greg Kroah-Hartman recently announced that the Linux 5.11 kernel series has reached the end of its useful life, asking all users to migrate to the Linux 5.1 kernel series as soon as possible.

A few days after the 5.11 kernel reached the end of its life , the Fedora Project today upgraded the Linux kernel packages to its latest version of Fedora Linux 34 to the Linux 5.12 kernel.

Fedora Linux 34 was officially released on April 27, 2021 and shipped with the Linux 5.11 kernel by default. Since then, users have received regular updates almost every week, but now that the Linux 5.11 kernel has reached the end of its life, it's time to say goodbye and upgrade to the Linux 5.12 kernel.
That's right! Users of the Fedora Linux 34 operating system, rejoice! The latest Linux 5.12 kernel series has arrived in the distribution's stable software repositories, and you can now upgrade your installations to replace the now obsolete Linux 5.11 kernel.

The 5.12 kernel was released on April 25, 2021 and brings many new features and improvements to get you up to date, such as better support for Lenovo IdeaPad machines to enable keyboard backlight control, always-on USB charging control and other benefits .

It also offers support for PlayStation 5 DualSense and Nintendo 64 game controllers, support for high compression LZ4 mode for the F2FS file system, support for Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Gen 2, better support for Microsoft Surface devices, initial support for Microsoft devices. zoned blocks for the Btrfs File System, support for eMMC inline encryption and a new dynamic thermal energy management mechanism.

In addition, the Linux 5.12 kernel brings many other great new features, especially for AMD users, so be sure to update your Fedora Linux 34 installations as soon as possible for the Linux 5.12 kernel series.

To do this, you can use your favorite graphical package manager (GNOME Software, Plasma Discover, etc.) or the command line by executing the following command.
sudo dnf update --refresh

Of course, after installing the new kernel version (Linux 5.12.5), you must restart your computer.

The latest upstream version of the Linux 5.12 kernel series is 5.12.6 at the time of making this video, released on May 22, 2021, so you should expect this update to arrive soon at the Fedora Linux 34 repositories, so be sure to always keep your facilities up to date.
