Overview
Notebook Wars Saga is an action packed top down shooter where you need to control a spaceship and blast the enemies from the sky, there's not really a decent storyline here which is quite common for shmup games, you'll be shooting the enemies by the hundreds as they come at you in waves, once killed, they drop gold coins, collect them all and use them at the shops to buy newer and cooler planes or more powerful weapons, like machine guns, lasers and even napalm bombs to wreck havoc against your enemies, the game boasts of 15 huge and challenging levels for you to explore and battle the enemies, there are 7 different and uniquely designed planes for you to fly, each one of them having their own set of characteristics that you can use effectively against the enemies, there are also a total of 22 weapons in the game, all of which are very powerful and can be upgraded to make them more effective against the enemy invaders, not to mention those cool powerups that are quite game changers, you'd want to have them for sure, so come on and play the game, see if you are skilled enough to repel the enemies here in Notebook Wars Saga.
Graphics and Sound
Notebook Wars Saga has simple but pretty graphics, it looks just like your drawings in your notebook, hence the title Notebook Wars, the ship models are simple but quite varied in looks, quite colorful too, environments are also simple quite detailed but everything is kept simple, colors are great, they are sharp and quite bright too and really nice to look at, animations are very smooth, movements are fluid which is quite cool when you are engaged in a firefight against the enemies, music and sounds are okay, the music is nice enough and sound effects are quite varied, lots of different sounds are given off by the different weapons and ammo used in the game, special effects are quite simple here, nothing spectacular but good enough as it made the game quite attractive considering its simple designs and presentation, overall, the game still managed to look pretty...must be the simplified looks.
Gameplay
Notebook Wars Saga is your typical shmup game, you will control one ship and then battle it out with a multitude of enemies that attack you in a formation, the enemy movements have their own pattern, but don't ever think this game is easy, it is just as challenging as the other games of this genre out there, the game only has 15 levels in them but they are quite huge, so you'll be dodging and shooting at the same time for quite a while, keep using powerups when available, especially if you think the screen is getting tight for maneuvering due to the number of ships in the play area, the game is quite a challenge really as there are also a lot of high scores to beat at the leaderboards and achievement to complete, which is cool actually as replay value is quite high.
Features
Notebook Wars Saga features some simple and pretty designs, there are 15 challenging levels where you can shoot it out with the enemies, 7 different and powerful planes to fly and a total of 22 weapons, each one having its own upgrade, there are different achievements to beat and a leaderboard support where you can post your scores for everyone to see.
Conclusion
Notebook Wars Saga is very nice, the artwork is really great, I also enjoyed the challenges it offers, I have been a fan of shmup games for a while now, they are generally easy to play but very hard to master.
